- <p> DIED. Herbert Mills, 77, second oldest original member of
- the velvet-voiced Mills Brothers singing group; of viral
- meningitis; in Las Vegas. From their beginnings in Piqua, Ohio,
- in the 1920s, the Mills Brothers started singing in small-town
- vaudeville and tent shows, moved on to radio in Cincinnati and
- achieved their greatest success in the 1940s and '50s with such
- mellow hits as Paper Doll, You Always Hurt the One You Love and
- Glow Worm.
